Teen Driver Safety Week: Drive to Arrive!
Staff Report / QueenCreeklocal.org
The Queen Creek Police Department is emphasizing the importance of teen driver safety during Teen Driver Safety Week. According to the department, distracted driving and speeding are two of the leading causes of traffic collisions in the area. They are urging all drivers, particularly teens, to adopt the motto "Drive to Arrive."
The police department has released several safety tips for drivers:
- Seat belts should be worn at all times by both drivers and passengers.
- Drivers should avoid distractions while on the road and adhere to speed limits.
- It is important to make responsible choices and refrain from using substances that impair judgment.
- Drivers should never drink and drive.
Additionally, there are town curfews in place for juveniles who are not with a parent or guardian. The curfew hours are from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for individuals aged 15 and under, and from midnight to 5 a.m. for those aged 16 and 17.
